#QOTD ‘Schools Teach Kids Irrelevant Things’

‘Schools teach kids irrelevant things, but not how to cope with real life.’ – Rowan Atkinson

Who doesn’t love Mr Bean? But real life Rowan Atkinson is spot on, I am totally behind him with this. Continue reading

#QOTD ‘Being Normal is Boring.’

Normal is boring. Amen to that!!

This is maybe my all time favourite quote! It’s short but sweet, and it’s just perfect.

Why anyone would want to be normal and fit in with society is beyond me! Be you, like what you want, do what you enjoy, and express how you feel.. Continue reading

#QOTD ‘You can choose to live in the front row, or the third row..’

You can choose to live in the front row, or the third row..
Every day we make a choice, and this choice will result in how your days – which turn into your life – will end up. Life throws many different situations at us; some good, some bad, some hard and some sad, but how we deal with those situations shape who we are, and how we look at the world. Even though it can be hard, don’t let the world dampen your spirits, but at the same time, don’t let it get your feet off the ground. Try to always be positive and look on the bright side; remember someone has always got it worse than you! Life is too short not to enjoy it, so live your life in the front row, now the third!

#QOTD ‘Morality is doing what’s right regardless of what your told. Obedience is doing what your told regardless of what is right.’

Morality is doing what’s right regardless of what your told. Obedience is doing what your told regardless of what is right.
As children we are bought up to listen to our elders, the important and influential people in our lives; parents, family members, teachers. We are taught to be obedient and listen to what they say, and comply to do so. However, as we grow up, we learn there is a difference between doing what is right and doing what we are told. It’s very important to understand this difference, as following something someone says because it’s ‘well behaved’ to do so is worse than doing something that might be ‘frowned upon or bad behaviour’, but that is morally right. Make up your own mind about what is right and wrong and follow what you believe; let your gut be your guide. If you believe something is morally wrong, don’t do it! And if you believe something is morally right, stand up and fight for it – you don’t know how much of a difference you could make!

While at school studying psychology I was taught about the Milgram Obedience experiment. This case study gave extremely interesting results, but which are quite disappointing. For more information and results of the experiment, click this link!

#QOTD ‘Be the type of person you want to meet’

Do you ever meet someone for the first time, but you just really like them from the minute you met? You might not be able to pinpoint exactly what it is about them; maybe it’s their loving and caring personality, their chilled out and relaxed nature, the way that everything they say is fun and makes you happy, or even just that you know you want them to be a part of your life. Be this kind of person, be the kind of person you want to meet and keep in your circle. By consciously thinking of how you want to be, you will be, for we become our thoughts.

#QOTD ‘We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing’

We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing – George Bernard Shaw

This is one of my favourite quotes, and one that’s really important to me. We live in a generation where everyone wants to grow up so fast, and in this rushed process they forget some of the basic, but most fulfilling and important things in life. You may think that ‘playing’ is only for children, but the truth is, you are never too old; keep the youth in you alive! Remember it’s healthy to keep your inner child satisfied, and fun at the same time!

#QOTD ‘Seek adventures that open your mind’

seek adventures

I love this quote for two reasons. I love adventures, who doesn’t? But I also love nothing more than discovering new things, understanding differences in the world, and having my mind opened. Too many people have closed minds and aren’t open to any new ideas or concepts, but this prevents them from growing as a person. Always be looking to seek out new adventures which open your mind, you never know what, where or who it could lead to!
