New York

I always wanted to visit New York for as long as I can remember. The big apple; the city that never sleeps! The world famous landmarks, the theatres and shops, Times Square, the American dream… need I go on! So when in 2012 I got the chance to go with 2 of my best friends, I was over the moon!

Unfortunately for me (and the ears of my friends), I am a very cold person at the best of times, so maybe January wasn’t the most sensible time of year! From the minute we got off the plane at La Guardia, to the minute I got into a nice hot bath back home in England, I just couldn’t warm up; I was cold to the bone and shivering 24/7 (and moaning just as much!)

The cold temperature coupled with the annoying fact that back then I was less curious and didn’t have as strong desire to learn, take in and explore as I do now, I don’t feel like I quite made the most of the trip. I was definitely more of a tourist back then, than a traveler (read here about the difference between the two). Despite these things, I still had a fantastic time, but would love to return one day to soak in as much of the culture as I can! Here are some of the things which really stuck with me though!

#1 The New York Lifestyle

#2 Central Park

#3 Empire State Building

#4 Times Square
